New Delhi: In a bid to elevate both efficiency and practicality, Tata Motors has unveiled plans to introduce an innovative twin-cylinder technology to its CNG-powered Tiago and Tigor models. 

This strategic update aims to replace the current single-cylinder setup, thereby optimizing the available boot space. By ingeniously placing the twin-cylinder tanks beneath the boot floor, Tata Motors creates an ingenious solution that caters to the dual needs of storage and performance.

This pioneering twin-cylinder CNG technology was first showcased with the Tata Altroz iCNG in February 2023. Distinguished by its two 30-liter tanks positioned side by side, this design marvel retains the essential boot space while accommodating the twin-cylinder arrangement.

The revamped Tiago and Tigor CNG models are set to inherit the same robust 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine found in their predecessors. Notably, the engine has undergone refinement to produce an impressive 72 bhp and 95 Nm of torque when powered by CNG. 

Enthusiasts will be pleased to have a choice between manual and automatic transmissions, ensuring a personalized driving experience.

Tata Motors is yet to disclose the precise launch date for the updated Tiago and Tigor CNG variants. However, the automaker has affirmed its commitment to unveiling these enhanced models in the imminent months, raising anticipation among eager consumers.
