Tata Motors is anticipated to widen the number of varieties of its Tiago hatchback with a CNG version in the near future. On its social media accounts, the automaker previewed the CNG vehicle. According to sources, bookings have already begun informally, so the launch is expected to come shortly.
Tata Motors now sells the Tiago in ten models with only petrol engines. The Tiago is priced from 5 lakh (ex-showroom) to 7.07 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec XZA Plus dual-tone option.

The Tiago is regarded as one of India's safest hatchbacks. In the Global NCAP crash testing, the model received four stars for adult occupant safety and three stars for child occupant protection. As standard safety equipment, it comes with two airbags.

The Tiago will be the first CNG automobile from Tata Motors in 2022. The manufacturer is also likely to expand its CNG inventory to include the Tigor subcompact sedan, Altroz luxury hatchback, and Nexon subcompact SUV, among other vehicles.

Tata Motors is unlikely to make significant changes to the Tiago CNG variant compared to the ICE version. A distinct iCNG badging will be the only distinguishing feature between a Tiago petrol and a Tiago CNG. There are no official details on the Tiago's factory-installed CNG kit yet. It is predicted to yield a distance of roughly 30 kilometres per kg.

Tata Motors is expected to keep the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine under the hood for the Tiago that runs on CNG. The engine, which is connected to a five-speed manual transmission, has a maximum output of 85 BHP and peak torque of 113 Nm.

Tata Tiago CNG versions will compete with rivals such as the Maruti WagonR CNG and the Hyundai Santro CNG when they are released. In India, CNG cars have witnessed a substantial increase in the current fiscal year. CNG car sales increased by 56 percent from January to November, with 1,36,357 units sold in the previous eight months.
