Tata Power Renewables inks pact with Tata Power for 510 MW hybrid project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) have agreed to a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 510 MW hybrid project, the company announced in a statement on Friday, March 10.

The initiative will reduce CO2 emissions for Tata Power-DDL, a joint venture between Tata Power and the Delhi government that provides power to seven million residents in North Delhi, by an average of 1540 MUs annually.

The  power purchase agreement has a capacity split between 340 MW of wind power and 170 MW of solar electricity. One of the largest hybrid projects in the nation is located in Karnataka and will be operational within 24 months of the PPA execution date "It read.

“Tata Power Renewable has signed one of the largest power purchase agreements in the country for a 510MW hybrid project, via competitive bidding, showcasing our future readiness and expertise in project execution skills.
 This alliance will help us in our mission to remain one of the leaders in the transition to clean and green energy. This is a continuation of the prior 255MW LOA (letter of award) that was received in December 2022 "Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited CEO Ashish Khanna stated.

With this win, the total renewables capacity of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limitedreached 6,303 MW with an installed capacity of 3,909 MW (solar - 2,981 MW and wind - 928 MW) and 2,394MW under various stages of implementation.
