NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced a number of new investment plans in Andhra Pradesh on Friday, including the development of 10 gigawatts of renewable solar energy in the state.

Ambani remarked at the Andhra Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Vishakhapatnam, "I would like to assure you that Reliance Industries will continue to be an unflinching partner to the people and the Government of Andhra Pradesh in your state's all-around accelerated progress.

Reliance Industries has been among the first corporates to believe in the stupendous economic potential of Andhra Pradesh,  Mukesh Ambani said. It is here that our Oil & Gas Exploration team found gas in 2002. We have invested more than 1,50,000 crores in our KG-D6 assets, developing and supporting gas pipeline. Almost 30% of India's gas production will come from the natural gas generated by Reliance at the KG-D6 basin, which is currently fueling the country's transformation to sustainable energy," Ambani said.

"This is just one illustration of how crucial Andhra is to the history of India... Besides, how committed Reliance is to the Andhra tale. With an investment of over 40,000 crore, we are building the best and largest digital network footprint in the state.

"Our 4G network covers 98% of Andhra Pradesh's population, including those living in the remotest corners of the state," Mukesh Ambani said. Before the end of 2023, all of India, including your state of Andhra Pradesh, will have Jio's Real 5G installed.

Reliance Retail has sparked a retail revolution in Andhra Pradesh. In 6,000 villages in Andhra Pradesh, it has collaborated with more than 1.2 lakh kirana merchants to provide them with the tools they need to flourish and compete in the digital era, he said.

In Andhra Pradesh, Reliance Retail's presence has resulted in the creation of nearly 20,000 direct jobs and several indirect jobs.

"Reliance Retail would import a lot more manufactured items, agricultural and agro-based products, and other things from Andhra Pradesh to sell all over India. This will immediately generate over 50,000 livelihood chances in the state, in addition to raising the income of farmers, craftsmen, and other people, Ambani said.

The Reliance Foundation is actively pursuing its goals in the fields of rural change, healthcare, and education. "Reliance Foundation's initiatives to address the developmental needs of rural populations in the state will grow along with Reliance's presence in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
