New Delhi: The company's flagship SUV Safari after getting a facelift was spotted test driving in India. It is expected to be launched on our earth by mid-2023.

The four-wheel test mule had a bumper-mounted, radar-based ADAS trans-receiver, albeit in a camouflaged form. The Safari (revised) will come with a new infotainment system.

In 2021, Tata Motors relaunched the Safari SUV as its top model in India. Unlike the previous generation model, the new one is supported by a monocoque chassis which was adapted from Land Rover.

The upcoming Safari (facelift) is the first product from the brand to incorporate the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology.
The automaker's action will help the SUV gain more traction.

The refreshed Tata Safari will feature a chiseled grille, a projector headlamp with dual-function LED DRLs, a skid plate, rain-sensing wipers and two-tone body colour.

It will get blacked-out B-pillars, roof rails, ORVMs and 18-inch alloy wheels on the sides. The back end of the SUV will be adorned with wraparound LED taillamps, roof mounted spoiler and shark-fin antenna.

The 2.0-litre, inline-four, turbocharged "Kryotec" diesel engine that powers the current Tata Safari produces 168 horsepower and 350 Nm of peak torque. Ideally, the motor will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Tata Safari (facelift interior) will accommodate six passengers and will include a dual-tone dashboard, leather upholstery, powered front seats, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and a multifunctional steering wheel.

The SUV will feature a large infotainment console with the latest connectivity features as well as a semi-digital instrument cluster.

The pricing and availability details of the face-lifted Tata Safari will be made public at the time of its launch, which is expected in mid-2023. The updated SUV will be priced higher than the current model, which has a starting price in India of Rs. 15.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
