Tata Motors has launched the electric version of its sub-compact sedan Tigor. The electric car, named Tigor EV, is available in two variants - XM and XT. They have priced at Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 10.09 lakh respectively. The price of Tata Tigor EV includes a discount of Rs 1.62 lakh (subsidy) under Fame-2. Tigor Electric is only available to fleet operators, meaning private buyers will not be able to buy it right now.

Tata Tigor is based on the sedan the Tigor E Standard. Both variants of the electric car have features such as automatic climate control, power window, Harman audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, high-powered driver seat and unstable front headrest. The XT variant features alloy wheels and electric out side rear view mirrors. Tata Motors' electric car features basic safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors to meet the new safety norms that the Tigor E will implement from July 1. The car is available in three color options (White, Blue and Silver).

 

For your information, the Electric Tigor is powered by a 16.2kWh battery pack that generates 41hp power and 105Nm of torque through a 72V, 3-face AC induction motor. The company has said that its battery will be charged 80% in 6 hours through standard AC wall socket. On the other hand, it will take 90 minutes for the same battery to be charged through the DC 15kW First Charger. Tata Motors claims that the Tigor E will run up to 142 km once fully charged. It can hold a speed of 0 to 60 kilometers per hour in 12 seconds. Its top speed is 80 kilometers per hour. Which is a good speed.
