New Delhi: After registering a stunning victory in the ODI series, Team India has now made a winning start in the T20 series against the West Indies. In the first match of the five-match T20I series played on Friday, India defeated the West Indies by a huge margin of 68 runs. The team's victory in this match was led by captain Rohit Sharma, who played a brilliant inning of 64 runs. India lost the toss and batted first and scored 190 runs in this match, in reply, West Indies could only score 122 runs in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, the West Indies lost their 8 wickets and in the end, India won the match by 68 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Chasing 191 runs, the West Indies team had a very bad start. Arshdeep Singh was the first to send Kyle Mayers to the pavilion, followed by Jason Holder who also lost his wicket without opening his account. But, for the West Indies, the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi came as a nightmare. Together, these two took a total of four wickets, Ashwin gave away just 22 runs in his 4 overs and took 2 wickets. While Ravi Bishnoi hunted down 2 batsmen for 26 runs in 4 overs. From West Indies, S. Brooks made 20, and captain Nicholas Pooran scored 18.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma, who took a break from the ODI series, made a comeback in the T20 series. In yesterday's match, Rohit Sharma rained a shot at the opposing team. Rohit hit 7 fours, and 2 sixes in his 64-run innings. Apart from Rohit Sharma, finisher Dinesh Karthik's bat once again opened fire. In the middle, when Team India's innings faltered a bit, Dinesh Karthik finally played a knock of 41 runs in 19 balls to take the team to a big score. Karthik hit 4 fours, and 2 sixes in his innings. Along with him, Ravichandran Ashwin also scored 13 off 10 balls and India's score reached 190 runs. Apart from these, Suryakumar Yadav scored 24 runs, Rishabh Pant 14, and Ravindra Jadeja 16 runs. Dinesh Karthik was given player of the match for his blistering batting.
