New Delhi: The Indian cricket team's tour of Sri Lanka was canceled now that it has been canceled after a tour. After Sri Lanka, Team India will not be able to go to Zimbabwe even now, it has also been announced by the BCCI. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has canceled Team India's brief tour of Zimbabwe in August on Friday in view of the threat of Corona virus epidemic.

The decision was expected in advance, as Sri Lanka Cricket announced on Thursday that India's limited overs tour in June-July has been postponed indefinitely. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said in a statement that, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced on Friday that the Indian cricket team will not be visiting Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe due to the current threat of Corona epidemic.

BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that the Indian team had to go on a tour of Sri Lanka for the same number of T20s from 24 June 2020. Whereas in Zimbabwe, a series of three ODIs were to be played from 22 August 2020. So far, three lakh corona virus cases have been reported in India, 8500 people have lost their lives. The Indian team has not even started training yet. There is also no possibility of camp before July. Players will take approximately six weeks to prepare for the matches. In such a situation, these visits have been canceled.
