Teenager gang-raped in UP's Ballia, 3 arrested

Ballia- Uttar Pradesh: Three youths have been booked for allegedly gang-raping a 14-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, the police said on Friday, March 3.

The incident took place on March 1, night. They said that the victim had gone to her maternal place, and was en route home when she was intercepted by the three accused.

On finding her all alone in the deserted area, the accused three people offered the girl drop her hosue. When she refused, they allegedly forcefully took her to an isolated location and raped her, the girl's family told the police.
Ballia Police superintendent  Raj Karan Nayyar said that the three accused were arrested within a few hours after a complaint was lodged by the victim's mother on Thursday morning, adding that a  case has been registered against all three accused, and they have been sent to judicial custody.

Later, they fled the spot after which the girl contacted her father over phone and reported the matter. Her father reached the spot and later contacted the police. On getting her complaint, the police swung into action and took all the three accused youths under custody for interrogation.
