Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad's younger son and former Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday asserted that his father was "never a criminal" in a public court. The special CBI court in Ranchi has convicted Lalu Prasad in another case related to the fodder scam. Tejashwi, who is seen as the political successor of Lalu Prasad, said after the court's decision that his father was being targeted for being the leader of the poor.
Along with this, Tejashwi said, 'There have been so many scams but only one person is being convicted. Has any action been taken against Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and Lalit Modi? Will action be taken in the Rs 28,000 crore scam related to the Gujarat present shipyard company?' At the same time, he said that people are paying attention to the fact that CBI, ED etc.
have become 'subsidiaries of BJP'. Appealing to his party workers not to lose heart, Tejashwi said, "The order passed today is not the last. We will demand justice from the High Court of Jharkhand. If necessary, we will move the Supreme Court. He expressed surprise that his father was being convicted in fodder scam cases despite being the then CM of undivided Bihar, even though he had ordered an investigation into fraudulent withdrawal of funds from treasuries in several cities.
