Patna: Bihar leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav has met CM Nitish Kumar along with other opposition leaders amid the ongoing political tussle over the caste census. He met CM Nitish and discussed conducting the caste census. He asked CM Nitish to meet PM Modi himself in time or conduct a census from the exchequer like Karnataka.
CM Nitish agreed that he is currently going to Delhi for the party meeting. But after returning from there, he will write to PM Modi and take an appointment with him. After meeting CM Nitish, Tejashwi Yadav said he had met CM Nitish Kumar on Friday. Discussions were held with the CM in this regard as to the ethnic census. It may be recalled that this resolution was unanimously passed twice by the Assembly. But a few days ago, the Central Government refused it in Parliament.
Tejashwi said, "CM Nitish Kumar has been constantly saying that he is in support of the ethnic census. But who will conduct the census? Therefore, in order to honor the Bihar Assembly, all of us met the CM and proposed that he meet PM Modi as a delegation of the entire party. They take time from them to talk about it. The Chief Minister has also agreed to this."
