On Sunday, Dasara is celebrated with devotion across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, but caution is taken due to the COVID-19 epidemic. There is no common festival in both Telugu states. Wearing masks and protecting social distance, people visited temples to pray to Goddess Durga on Vijayadashami.

Special worship was performed in all the temples. Special pujas were performed at the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada. Devotees queued up for Darshan in the famous temple in Indira Kiladri. The Union Home Minister G. Kishan Reddy worshipped. The BJP leader, who is in Vijayawada to open the state BJP office, said he prayed for the protection of the people from the coronavirus. The Bhadrakali Temple in Warangal, the Peddamma Temple in Hyderabad Jubilee Hills and the Yallamma Temple in Balkampetalso saw the main compounds.

However, the two states have seen less erratoms due to the epidemic. The usual hustle hustle associated with The Shopping and Celebration of Dussehra is not clear. There are very few vehicles at temples for traditional weapon worship, as many people prefer to worship at home. Traders said that the sales of flowers and fruits have fallen greatly compared to previous years. Many devotees preferred virtual vision from their home facilities to avoid congestion at temples. On the occasion of Vijaya Dasami, Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilaisai Soundararajan, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, his Andhra Pradesh counter Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy greeted the people.
