Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to Get Two New Vande Bharat Trains

Hyderabad: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are set to welcome two new Vande Bharat Express trains, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to flag off the Nagpur-Secunderabad and Durg-Visakhapatnam routes on Monday.

The Nagpur-Secunderabad train will connect Maharashtra's Nagpur with Secunderabad in Telangana. Meanwhile, the Durg-Visakhapatnam train will link Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam with Durg in Chhattisgarh.

These two trains are among seven Vande Bharat Express trains to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister through a remote video link from Ahmedabad at 4:15 p.m.

The South Central Railway (SCR) will host a ceremonial event at Secunderabad Railway Station. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and other senior officials are expected to attend.

The Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express will begin regular services on September 19, while the Durg-Visakhapatnam service will start on September 20.

SCR officials noted that the Nagpur-Secunderabad train will improve connectivity and speed between various cities in Maharashtra and Telangana. It will offer convenient daytime travel, covering the 585 km distance between Nagpur and Secunderabad in 7 hours and 15 minutes. The train will make stops at Sevagram, Chandrapur, Balharshah, Ramagundam, and Kazipet.

This train will feature two Executive class coaches and 18 Chair Car coaches, with a total seating capacity of 1,440.

Train Number 20101 Nagpur-Secunderabad will depart Nagpur at 5:00 a.m. and arrive in Secunderabad at 12:15 p.m. Conversely, Train Number 20102 Secunderabad-Nagpur will leave Secunderabad at 1:00 p.m. and reach Nagpur at 8:20 p.m.

The Durg-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express aims to cut travel time between the two cities to eight hours. This train, which consists of 16 coaches, will operate six days a week, except on Thursdays. It will make stops at Raipur, Mahasamund, Khariar Road, Kantabanji, Titlagarh, Kesinga, Rayagada, and Vizianagaram.

Train Number 20829 Durg-Visakhapatnam will depart Durg at 5:45 a.m. and arrive in Visakhapatnam at 1:45 p.m. Train Number 20830 Visakhapatnam-Durg will leave Visakhapatnam at 2:50 p.m. and reach Durg at 10:50 p.m.
