Hyderabad: The District Congress President of Telangana's Narayanpet has been accused of rape and cheating by a woman worker of his own party. The police have started an investigation after registering a case on the complaint of the woman. According to the police, the name of the accused district president is Khumbam Shivakumar Reddy. The victim has informed the police that she has been an active member of Congress. In view of the 2020 urban body elections, she was deputed to coordinate.

The woman has told that she was assigned the responsibility of Narayanpet district. On reaching here, she came in contact with Congress District President Khumbam Shivkumar Reddy. The victim has told that Shivkumar started trying to come near her on some pretext or the other. Shivkumar started messaging the victim at any time. Finally, the Congress leader expressed his intention to marry her. When the woman questioned Shivakumar regarding his current wife, Shivakumar said that his wife will not be able to live more than 3 years. So he is looking for a woman who can take care of him.

One night when the female leader was staying in Dubbak district for some work, Shivakumar drank heavily and reached the victim's room late in the night. Not only this, Reddy started pressurizing the woman leader to have a forcible relationship. When the victim refused to accept Shivakumar's offer, he beat her up. The victim alleges that Shivakumar raped her in Hyderabad and Bangalore and also made a video of the act. According to the police, a case has been registered, soon action will be taken against the accused.
