Hyderabad: The demand for reinstatement of Rahul Gandhi as party president in congress-ruled states has been demanded. The party state units also started to accept proposals in this regard. Now Telangana has also joined. The organizational level elections in Congress will be held in May.

The party continues to be frustrated with the election of the Congress national president. After Delhi and Chhattisgarh, Telangana became the third state to raise its voice in support of the demand for re-appointment of Rahul Gandhi as president.

The resolution was unanimously passed in this regard. The meeting was attended by the All India Congress Committee, Telangana In-charge, MP Manikam Tagore, 33 District Congress Committee President State President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramara were also present.

Earlier, the Chhattisgarh state unit chief minister Bhupesh Baghel passed the resolution and the state unit president Mohan Markam and state in-charge PL Punia passed it. The Delhi Congress also passed a resolution to appoint Rahul Gandhi as party president. Delhi Congress chief Chaudhary Anil Kumar has requested Rahul Gandhi to take over as Congress president soon.

The Congress needs a powerful and powerful leader like Rahul Gandhi to deal with religious, official and undemocratic forces in view of the dangerous political situation in the country. The resolution said Rahul Gandhi had decided to expose "mistakes" in the Modi government and his confidence as Congress president was needed to increase the confidence and courage of workers.

Significantly, after defeatin the general election, Rahul Gandhi resigned as party president in May 2019 and appointed Sonia Gandhi as acting president in August. Congress leaders who demanded a comprehensive reform in the elections in August 2020 from the party, block to the CWC level raised the issue. However, the party decided to run the organisation in May after the elections in five states.
