Hyderabad: The state of Telangana is preparing for a period of widespread rainfall spanning August 18th to 20th, owing to an upper air cyclonic circulation intensifying over the northeastern Bay of Bengal, as confirmed by an official statement.
Nagaratna, the Director at the Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad, provided insights to the media, stating, "Current weather patterns indicate the presence of an upper air cyclonic circulation situated over the northeastern Bay of Bengal. Over the next 48 hours, this system is projected to shift towards the northern Bay of Bengal, gaining strength and developing into a low-pressure area. Consequently, Telangana can anticipate light to moderate rainfall in the coming days. We anticipate a rise in rainfall intensity, ranging from moderate to heavy in northern Telangana, and light to moderate rainfall across the remaining regions. Anticipate fairly widespread rainfall across the state on August 18th, 19th, and 20th."
The Meteorological Office in Hyderabad has issued a warning, predicting heavy rainfall on the 19th of August. A yellow warning has been issued for the districts of Komarambheem, Mancherial, Jaishankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Warangal, and Pedapally in Telangana.
As per Nagarata, the Director of the Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad can expect light rainfall over the next 48 hours, with temperatures ranging from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.
In preparation for the upcoming monsoon, emergency response teams in Telangana are on high alert, particularly in the northern and eastern districts such as Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Siddipet, Warangal, Mulugu, Karimnagar, Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, and Suryapet. These regions are poised to receive substantial rainfall.
The Meteorological Department has also forecasted a potential resurgence of the southwest monsoon in the state of Maharashtra. Various areas in the state might witness moderate to significant rainfall towards the latter part of the week.
