Telangana Liberation Day is celebrated on September 17 every year. On this occassion, Telangana politicians hoisted the national flag on Thursday on telangana liberation day and paid homage to freedom fighters who fought for the merger of the former Hyderabad state into the Indian Union. Telangana Liberation Day was celebrated here on Thursday by various political parties except AIMIM.

TRS Working President, IT and Industry Minister K T Rama Rao unfurled the national flag at the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan on this special day in telangana history. Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar paid floral tributes to the statues of Telangana's mother and Acharya Jayashankar in the party minister's office. Home Minister Mahmood Ali, GHMC Mayor Bontu Ram Mohan, legislators and party leaders also participated.

For your information, let us share that on 17 September 1948, the Indian Armed Forces captured the Hyderabad Royal Kingdom in "Police Action", ended the 200-year-old Nizam's rule and merged with the vast Deccan region of Hyderabad. Present Telangana, parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka are in India.
