Hyderabad: Several key leaders of the Congress party have appealed to the party high command to postpone the selection process of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president till the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election. Respecting Janareddy's view, Congress leaders said it would be better to postpone the TPCC chief selection process.

Amid reports that the new TPCC president will be named, Manikam Tagore, in-charge of Telangana Pradesh Congress affairs, on Wednesday called on All India Congress president Sonia Gandhi, TPCC current chairman Uttam Kumar Reddy, poet leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramark, TPCC executive chairman A. Prabhakar Reddy and Ponnam through a zoom conference. Jetty decided to have a meeting with the cousins.

However, all the four leaders except Rewanth Reddy expressed their views at the meeting. He said any decision taken by the party high command would be valid, but it was in the party's interest not to announce the name of the new TPCC president until the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election in the next two months.

However, before the meeting, High Command directed Cavid leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramark to know the opinion of party MLAs. After discussions with the party MLAs, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka briefed the state in-charge about the views of the MLAs at a meeting held through Zoom Conference and Nagarjuna Sagar said that all the MLAs except one or two would decide the process of selection of the party president till the by-election is over. It is better to postpone it.
