New Delhi: In preparation for the upcoming Telangana assembly elections this year, Sanjay Bandi, the Former BJP Telangana Chief, had a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.

After the meeting, the BJP Telangana leader shared with ANI, "Amit Shah encouraged me to work with utmost enthusiasm for Telangana. We discussed various issues concerning Telangana, and he emphasized the party's determination to secure victory in the forthcoming polls."

Taking to Twitter, Home Minister Amit Shah informed about the meeting, tweeting, "Met Shri @bandisanjay_bjp Ji and discussed various issues related to Telangana."

This meeting took place following significant changes made by the BJP top brass in Telangana. G Kishan Reddy, the Union Tourism and Culture Minister, was appointed as the President of the Telangana BJP, replacing Bandi Sanjay. Another notable change was the appointment of Etela Rajender, the MLA from Huzurabad, as the Chairman of the Election Management Committee.

Notably, this marks the fourth time the party has entrusted Kishan Reddy with the responsibility of leading the state BJP unit. Earlier, on June 23, senior leaders Amit Shah, Nadda, and BL Santosh held discussions with Reddy, Eatala Rajender, and former MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy at the BJP office. During the deliberations on party affairs in Telangana, they expressed concern about internal rifts among leaders affecting the party's prospects in the state.

Highly placed party sources informed ANI that during the approximately 3-hour-long discussion, Etala and Raj Gopal Reddy suggested that the high command intensify its efforts in Telangana if they are to defeat the ruling BRS.

Furthermore, sources revealed that before stepping down as the state chief, Bandi Sanjay met Nadda and tendered his resignation. "He also discussed Telangana's present political situation," a source said.
