Telangana aims to achieve $50 billion cluster revenue (and $100 billion ecosystem value) by 2030 and the sector is expected to raise the current growth rate from 12 percent to 15 percent per annum.
According to the "Telangana Life Sciences: Vision 2030" report unveiled by Telangana Industry Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday, the industry in Telangana will have to gain international prominence as a leading innovation hub, not a life sciences manufacturing hub. The State will also consider attracting not only the manufacturing facilities but also the R&D wings of leading pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical equipment companies. Furthermore, the commitment to increase clinical research in the state through infrastructure upgradations and training programmes will help establish a leading clinical research destination in India.
