The land's market worth was put at Rs 40 crore. Sujatha had reported Khalid's encroachment on public property to the Banjara Hills police.

Later, when Khalid went to Sujatha for for resolution of the issue, she directed that he speak with Nagarjuna Reddy, a revenue inspector who sought a Rs 30 lakh bribe. After the complaint went to the ACB, the officials set up a trap and Nagarjuna Reddy was caught in the act.
