Hyderabad: Two naxals have been killed in an encounter with police in Komaram Bhim Asifabad district of Telangana. Officials have given information in this regard on Sunday. The encounter happened late Saturday night. The incident took place in the Kadamba forest area in the District's Paper Nagar division when the policemen were running search operations after reports of naxalites hiding.
District Superintendent of Police in-charge V Satyanarayana said that naxals opened fire on policemen. After which two naxalites were piled up in the retaliation. There has been no casualty on the part of the police. The naxals killed have not yet been identified, but there are fears that m. Adelu alias Bhaskar, a top naxal in the area, has managed to escape.
An official informed the media about the Ncounter and said that the police had received a secret information that the Division Committee secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) for mancherial and Asifabad districts was moving towards Chiltiguda near the city of Asifabad. After which the police conducted the search operation and piled up two naxalites. He said, about 400 policemen were involved in the search operation in the jungles.
