Hyderabad: More than 70 per cent e-challans have been issued against vehicle owners for violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act. With over 1.75 crore traffic violation cases reported in 2020, 85 per cent of the cases against motorists for violating regulations under the evidence-based e-challan system across the state in the wake of the epidemic are non-contact mode, the official said. With the help of these, cases were registered against people violating traffic rules.
The official said the police department was using a good amount of money to improve the signal system in various places besides introducing technology-based programs. More than Rs 66 crore has been spent on the signal system.
