Hyderabad: Etala Rajendra on Friday said in a video conference with Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan that the state was preparing for another "Covid Vaccine Dry Run".

Etala Rajendra said, “We have successfully implemented all the guidelines laid down by the regulatory authorities for making the vaccine. Since these are being manufactured in Hyderabad, the state is eligible to get the Covid vaccine in additional doses so that more beneficiaries can be vaccinated quickly. Rajender opined that if the Telangana Covid vaccine is taken in high doses, the immunization groups will be able to cover more dangerous groups.

"Currently, we only provide vaccines to health workers. However, there are other groups of frontline workers, including grade four employees and sanitation workers, who come to the non-clinical department of hospitals. Then there are police personnel who must be vaccinated as soon as possible. In view of these challenges, I urge the Central Government to allocate additional doses of Covid vaccines.

He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was not the answer. We are having difficulty in registering the names of beneficiaries from 14 districts in Co-Win software. Our administration teams are having a lot of problems with the software. Harsh Vardhan responded immediately to the issue of software errors.

During the talks, state health officials assured that all arrangements would be made for the smooth running of the Covid vaccine dry run in Telangana.
