HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has announced the naming of the new Telangana state Secretariat complex, which is under construction, after Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar. The CM issued instructions to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take steps in this matter.
"It is a proud moment for all Telangana people that the state's main administrative headquarters Secretariat is named after India's social philosopher and highly intelligent Dr. B.R. Ambedkar," Rao stated in a news statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). This decision is remarkable for India. The Telangana state government is making progress by upholding Ambedkar's belief that all Indians should be treated equally in all spheres of life. By elevating all demographic groups to top positions in the social, political, economic, and cultural spheres, Telangana has quickly become a model state for the rest of the nation, fulfilling Ambedkar's dreams.
The Chief Panel noted, "The Telangana state government is governing the state with a human face for SC, ST, BC, minority and women communities as well as poor upper caste people by implementing B.R. Ambedkar's constitutional spirit." He cited the 2014 creation of Telangana as a result of Ambedkar's incorporation of Article 3 into the Indian Constitution. Ambedkar's vision of India has a distinctively democratic and diverse character.
Ambedkar’s legacy guides us that only by implementing the federal spirit, equal rights and opportunities will be given to all communities. The true essence of Indianness is found in the fact that all Indians are treated fairly and equitably, regardless of caste, creed, gender, or geography. Only then will the true India be revealed.
Stating that the efforts of the Telangana government will carry on in achieving the targets and objectives of Ambedkar, Rao said, “Moving forward with vision in all fields, Telangana state, which stood as an example for the country in the past, is once again standing as an example for the country by naming the state Secretariat after Dr B.R. Ambedkar.”
The Chief Minister said, the demand to rename India's new Parliament building in Delhi after Ambedkar is a significant matter. Two days ago, the Telangana state Assembly unanimously passed a resolution in this regard since it is only proper to honour the man who drafted India's Constitution.
"A letter regarding this issue will be sent to the Prime Minister. I am reiterating the call to the Centre to name the Parliament building after B.R. Ambedkar in light of the Telangana state government's demand," Rao continued. Prior to Dasara, on October 5, the new Secretariat was supposed to be officially opened. However, the majority of the final touches still need to be added. According to official sources, the inauguration would only be feasible in 2023, either around Ugadi in March or Sankranti in January.
