The coronavirus, which started from a small city in China, has become a pandemic in the world today. People are imprisoned in their homes to prevent the corona epidemic from spreading. In such a situation, the dependence of people is on the Internet. School, college classes are also being done online. Meanwhile, a new trend of telemedicine has started. Telemedicine refers to treatment over the phone or video call. In the event of a lockdown, the World Health Organization has also advised telemedicine so that people in the hospital are least accessible. It is expected that the trend of telemedicine may start in India, due to which hospitals may have to suffer.

What is the guideline of Government of India for telemedicine?
Along with this, the Health Ministry, along with NITI Aayog, has issued a guideline regarding telemedicine last month, according to which only registered medical practitioners can be treated through telemedicine. Doctors in telemedicine can treat people through video, text messages, emails and audio calls. The government's guideline has given a new direction to telemedicine startups.

Number of patients may be half in hospital
Last year, McKinsey Digital India released its report that according to the telemedicine model, the number of patients going to the hospital can be halved, because it costs 30% less to consult a doctor at home than going to the hospital. It is estimated that telemedicine can save Rs 300-375 billion by 2025. India has joined the list of top 10 countries in the world in terms of telemedicine in the initial phase itself.

Telemedicine was first used in 1970
According to the World Health Organization, for the first time in 1970, the term telemedicine was used remotely. It was during that time that the disease began to be identified and treated based on symptoms over the phone. In telemedicine, the patient is also seen through video calling and the medicine is given on the basis of blood pressure monitor data. Overall, doctors in telemedicine try to treat a patient sitting far away. The same is happening in the corona epidemic. People are taking risk information from the corona by showing signs of chatbot.
