Jaipur: In a nail-biting match that finished 26-25 in their favour, the Telugu Talons narrowly defeated the Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh.

High-flying Telugu Talons and reinvigorated Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh faced off in match 21 of the Premier Handball League's (PHL) first season.

The Talons got off to a quick start in the game thanks to Davinder Singh Bhullar and Naseeb Singh, which allowed them to establish a slim lead early on. According to a PHL press release, Jyotiram Bhushan Shinde and Sukhveer Singh Brar came alive and levelled the scores, giving the Golden Eagles hope that they may rapidly recover.

The Golden Eagles attempted to capitalise on their momentum to take the lead, but Rahul TK stood firm in the Talons' goal and made several outstanding stops to prevent his team from falling too far behind. In this game, Mohit Kumar of the Talons was also playing a significant part in the offensive, as his goals allowed the Talons to grab the lead. The score was 7-5 in favour of the Talons at the 15-minute point of the game.

The Golden Eagles' Sukhveer Singh Brar kept on scoring goals while fending off challenges from the Talons. Mankesh, who was shooting from the wings to put Uttar Pradesh in the lead, provided him with strong assistance. To regain control of the game, Fernando Nunes introduced Kailash Patel and captain Shubham Sheoran. The Talons did so brilliantly because they quickly achieved parity. With both sides attacking effectively and not little separating them, the first quarter came to a conclusion with the scoreline reading 14 all.

The Golden Eagles hoped for a similar outcome as the Talons began the second half ready to seize the lead. In the second half, the Talons' Davinder Singh Bhullar scored the game's first goal while Telugu's Kailash Patel put on an exhibition from the wings, giving Telugu an early lead. However, Sahil Rana and Mahesh Ugile, who made sure that Uttar Pradesh was matching the Talons blow for blow, helped the Golden Eagles once more find a way back into the game. As both sides were evenly matched going into the last quarter of the game, the scores at the halfway point of the second half read 19 all.
