'Terrorism is the biggest threat to world peace,' says Rajnath Singh at ASEAN meeting

New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the ASEAN meeting this morning through video conferencing. The meeting with ASEAN defence ministers was held at 6.30 am today. Speaking at the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that "Terrorism and radicalization are the biggest threats to world peace and security, as members of the Financial Action Task Force (FTF), India is committed to combating terrorism financing."

While clarifying India's stand on meeting security challenges, the Union Defence Minister said that it is only through mutual cooperation that terrorist organizations and their networks can be disrupted. He called for promoting, supporting and funding terrorism without directly mentioning Pakistan and taking stern action against those who harbour terrorists.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh further said, "Terrorism and radicalization are the biggest threats to peace and security before the world today" Rajnath Singh said that as a member of the Financial Action Task Force (FTF), India is committed to fighting financial terrorism.
