Srinagar: Terrorists have once again attacked policemen in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This time the attack has taken place at Gulshan Chowk in Bandipora. Two jawans were reportedly martyred in the attack. Jammu and Kashmir police said Mohammad Sultan and Fayaz Ahmed were injured in the terror attack. Both were then rushed to the hospital, but the two jawans were declared brought dead there.

Police said, they have launched a cordon to trace the terrorists. A massive search operation is being launched to trace the terrorists. According to reports, a police team was deployed in the Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora on Friday to protect the market. Meanwhile, the police team was suddenly attacked by terrorists. Two policemen were injured in their firing. The terrorists reportedly came on a vehicle and fled the spot after attacking them.

Former Jammu and Kashmir CM and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah has condemned the terror attack and said, "I condemn the terror attack on the police in Bandipur area of north Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel Mohammad Sultan and Fayaz Ahmed were martyred in the attack. May God give them birth and give strength to their families. In the last few months, the Indian Army has stepped up its operations against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. After which the terrorists are now targeting soldiers, policemen and civilians. Indian security forces are also engaged in a befitting reply to the terrorists.
