Paris: Al-Qaeda, the dreaded terrorist organization, has threatened to attack the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo in 2015. At the commencement of the hearing of this attack, the newspaper had printed the same cartoon of Prophet Mohammed, which caused the first attack in a rage. Al Qaeda has also taken a dig at French President Emmanuel Macron.

Al-Qaeda has threatened in its publication One Ummah that if Sharley Abdo feels that they dodged the 2015 attack, then they are wrong. Al-Qaeda published the edition on the annual anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in America. Al Qaeda has threatened to give the same message to French President Emmanuel Macron that François Hollande had given. He alleged that Macron gave permission to republish these cartoons.

Newspaper director Laurent Surusu has said in court that there is no regret of republishing the cartoon. Laurent himself was also injured in the 2015 attack. He has said that not printing cartoons this time would mean accepting that it was a mistake to publish it for the first time. Macron had earlier said that he is not in a position to give judgment if Hebdo's cartoons are printed. He called for the need of the French people to respect each other and not to 'talk of hate'. However, he denied criticism of republishing the cartoon.
