Actress Taapsee Pannu's film Thappad was weak on the first Monday. With this, there was a significant decline in the collections of the film, due to which the journey of the first week has become a bit difficult. According to sources, about 50 percent of the film's collections have come on Monday, due to which the film has collected Rs 2-3 crore. With this, the time ahead for the Thappad is challenging. Due to no major film release last Friday (February 28), the Thappad was challenged by the old films Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Bhoot, but Tiger Shroff's Baggi 3 will be released from the coming Friday (March 6).

After this, the difficulty of all the films going on at this time will increase. Apart from this, this is the one week that Thappad has, in which the collections of the film can be increased. Talking about the journey so far, the film released on Friday (February 28) took an opening of 3.07 crores. 5.05 crores were deposited on Saturday and 6.54 crores on Sunday. The net collection of Thappad stood at 14.66 crore in the opening weekend. If combined with the estimated collections on Monday, then the 4-day net collection of the film should be around 18 crores. This amount can change after the final figures.

Thappad is an issue-sensitive film with domestic violence at the center of its story. Taapsee plays a housewife in the film, while debutant Pavel Gulati plays her husband. The Thappad also speaks of women's tolerance for domestic violence and gives an important message. Along with this, Ratna Pathak Shah, Tanvi Azmi, Dia Mirza, Ram Kapoor and Kumud Mishra are also in important roles. At the same time, before the release, campaigns were also organized on social media to boycott the Thappad. The experience behind this was Sinha and Tapsee's involvement in the protests of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
