The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) on Monday said that 20 players of the Ukraine Paralympics team have not been able to reach Beijing. The Winter Paralympic Games are set to begin from this week.
IPC spokesman Craig Spence said he hoped the athlete was about to arrive in China by the time the opening ceremony begins on Friday. However, given the safety concerns of the players, he refused to say where they are.
"We are also constantly talking to Ukraine to represent the game and trying to get them here. The Winter Paralympic Games are scheduled to begin in Beijing from March 4, which is scheduled to run till March 13. Of these, 650 athletes from 49 delegations are scheduled to participate in the sport.
