Bhagalpur: The bridge at Bhagalpur in Bihar, which was being constructed for the movement of big cars, collapsed even before it was built. The bridge, which was being constructed at a cost of about Rs 1710 crore, could not withstand a mild thunderstorm on Friday and a part of it collapsed. The sad truth is that the common people and the labourers escaped from falling prey to this accident. However, the government treasury is in a big shambles.
According to the news, a 3.160 km bridge is being constructed at Sultanganj in Bhagalpur. The construction of the bridge started on March 9, 2015. It is under construction of a 16 km long approach road from the Khagaria side and 4 km from the Sultanganj side. The construction of this bridge will be a great relief to the common people. To come to Bhagalpur from Khagaria, only 30 km of the journey has to be covered.
After a part of the same bridge collapsed, there was a sensation in the entire area. JDU MLA Lalit Narayan Mandal, who then reached the spot, said, "There has been a lot of corruption due to the construction of the bridge. Quality materials were not used in the construction of it, due to which the bridge could not withstand even a slight thunderstorm and rain. "The matter has been placed before the Chief Minister," he said, adding that it will be investigated soon.
