Chennai: Due to the southwest monsoon, light to moderate showers will occur in Tamil Nadu today and tomorrow along the Western Ghats (Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi), North Coastal districts and Vellore, Tirupati, Ranipettai, Salem and Krishnagiri districts. Weather and light rain in a couple of places.

On July 23, the Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts will receive heavy showers in one or two places, while the other western districts (Theni, Dindigul and Tenkasi) and Kanyakumari districts will receive light to moderate rain with thundershowers in one or two places, while the rest of the districts will receive dry and light rain in one or two places.

On July 24, heavy showers will occur at one or two places in the Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts, light to moderate showers at other places along the Western Ghats (Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi) and Kanyakumari districts.

For Chennai, the sky will be generally cloudy over the next 48 hours with light rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature is around 35 and the minimum temperature is around 26 degrees Celsius.

A low pressure area is likely to form in the north-western Bay of Bengal on the 23rd.
