Lucknow: The hijab controversy, which started from Karnataka, has been described as a conspiracy by Muslim clerics on Tuesday (12 April 2022) by Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Board chief Iftikhar Ahmed Javed. He said that this controversy arose because of the wrong leadership of the Muslims. The clerics deliberately started the hijab controversy to keep women under their control and make them feel small in the Muslim patriarchy.

Javed said that the clerics tried to crush the freedom of Muslim women by giving rise to triple talaq, marriage to multiple women or hijab controversy. The biggest problem among Muslims is that of leadership. Clerics do not like peace at all. He further said that, 'They always want some issues to create controversy.' According to the media report, Iftikhar Ahmed Javed said that, 'Hijab has a very clear concept. Women can wear it at home, mosques, tombs, weddings and markets. But they cannot insist on wearing the hijab in the army, as cabin crew, in the police force, as doctors, as lawyers and even in school. Hijab is not for all this work.

He further said that the hijab controversy was deliberately created to keep Muslim women out of the mainstream. Let us inform that earlier, Iftikhar Ahmed Javed had made the national anthem mandatory in all madrasas of the state on March 25, 2022. He had said that, 'The national anthem is sung in various schools and we also want to inculcate the feeling of patriotism among the madarsa students so that they can know our history and culture.'
