New Delhi: The Narendra Modi-led central government can appoint the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) in June itself. Not only this, the head of two more important security agencies RAW and IB (Intelligence Bureau) can also be appointed this month. Actually, the country's first CDS Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash in December last year. Since then this post is vacant. Explain that the government can select the CDS from among the current chiefs of the three services and retired or existing officers of the rank of lieutenant general.

In fact, the tenure of both the current chiefs has been extended for one year, which ends on June 30.

It is being told that the tenure of RAW Chief Samant Kumar Goel and IB Chief Arvind Kumar may end at the end of this month. For IB Chief, the name of 1987 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer AS Rajan is at the fore. Rajan is currently the number 2 officer in the IB. Rajan has also been Deputy Director and Joint Director in Gujarat. Along with this, Manoj Yadav, Anish Dayal Singh, Tapan Deka of 1988 batch are also in the race. At the same time, the names of Ravi Sinha and Sridhar Rao of 1988 batch are also in the race for Raw.
