New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday sent five terrorists arrested from Shakarpur area of Delhi on four days police remand. The special cell of Delhi Police arrested five terrorists on Monday. According to the information given by the police, out of the five terrorists arrested, two are from Punjab, while the rest are from Kashmir.

Duty Metropolitan Magistrate Sahil Khumri on Tuesday ordered the five accused to be sent to police custody for four days. The Delhi Police had sought an eight-day remand for further interrogation and investigation into the case. The lawyer representing the accused in the case, Kasar Khan, opposed the remand application of the terrorists. According to Delhi Police, one of these five Shaurya Chakra recipients was involved in the sensational murder of Balwinder Singh Sandhu.

Sandhu, who has been awarded the Bravery Award for fighting against terrorism for many years, was shot dead in Tarn Taran district of Punjab in October this year. The police also seized Rs 1 lakh cash and 2 kg of heroin worth about Rs 8 crore along with two cars from the possession of the terrorists. Police also seized two semi-automatic pistols along with 10 live cartridges from his possession.
