Bhopal: Ratul Puri, nephew of former Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, has been summoned by a Delhi court. Puri is convicted of money laundering in the alleged fertilizer scam and Rs 685 crore bribery case. Taking cognizance of the supplementary charge sheet, Special Judge Vikas Dhul summoned Puri and asked him to appear in court before January 18.

The judge passed the order after taking note of the submissions of Nitesh Rana, the special public prosecutor of the Enforcement Directorate, that prima facie there was sufficient evidence to prosecute Puri in the case. Puri is also a convict in the AgustaWestland chopper scam and the Moser Baer scam. At present, he is out on bail in both cases.

On the other hand, Congress's no-confidence motion against Shivraj Singh Chouhan's government in Madhya Pradesh has been rejected recently. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan selectively replied to the 51-point allegations of Congress for more than 2 hours. Thereafter, the motion was rejected by voice vote. With this, the proceedings of the assembly have been canceled indefinitely. In Madhya Pradesh, there was a long discussion on the no-confidence motion moved by the Congress against the government led by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Assembly on Wednesday.
