Ahmedabad: PM Narendra Modi today i.e. on Friday (May 12) addressed the convention of All India Education Association in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Addressing the session of the Teachers Association, Prime Minister Modi discussed the guru-shishya relationship and also mentioned his relationship with the teachers. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi said that due to lack of toilets in the school, a large number of girls used to leave the school. That's why we launched a campaign to get separate toilets built for girls in the school. He said that the curiosity and inquisitiveness of today's generation of students has brought a new challenge. Prime Minister Modi said that these students are full of self-confidence, fearless. The nature of such students also brings with it a challenge for the teachers to come out of the traditional way of dealing with the teachers.

He said that students have different sources of information due to which teachers also face the challenge of keeping themselves updated. Prime Minister Modi said that the future of our education system depends on how a teacher deals with these challenges. He said that the best approach is to see these challenges as opportunities for personal and professional growth. These challenges give us an opportunity to learn, unlearn and re-learn.

PM Narendra Modi also discussed the increasing use of technology and said that information can be obtained from it but not the right approach. He said that only a guru can help children understand what information is useful and what is not. Prime Minister Modi also said that for young children, the teacher is the first person outside the family with whom they spend the most time. He further said that the realization of this responsibility in all of you will greatly strengthen the generations to come. Prime Minister Modi said that you must be thinking that you are teaching maths, science or any other subject. But the student is not just learning the same subject from you. He is also learning how to keep his word. He said that the student is also learning qualities like being patient, helping others from you.
