Dehradun: Pilgrims are dying every day during the Chardham Yatra. So far the death toll has gone up to 28. The journey is taking a toll on the lives of the aged pilgrims. 13 passengers above 60 years of age have died. Director General of Health Dr. Tripti Bahuguna said that all the deaths due to the yatra were on foot. There are deaths due to heart attack and other diseases. None of the passengers died in the hospitals. All health facilities are available in hospitals and medical camps on the Chardham Yatra route.

According to reports from Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts, 13 people died in the age group of 60 and above, seven in the age group of 50 to 60, four in the age group of 40 to 50 and three in the age group of 30 to 40 years. Death has happened. The Director General said that as per the wishes of the family members, the post-mortem is being conducted. The families of many of the deceased do not want to do post-mortem. Those whose post-mortem could not ascertain the exact cause of death, their lives are being kept safe.
