More than 30 Telugus have successfully cracked the Civil Services Examination, 2019 whose results were announced by the Union Public Service Commission on Tuesday. Among the top scorers from Telangana, Pedditi Dhatri Reddy of Hyderabad has secured 46th rank in one of the difficult competitive examinations in the country. She is an IPS officer of Telangana cadre and under training at the National Policy Academy.

“This is my third attempt. I got selected for the IPS in the second attempt and presently I completed phase-1 training. Alongside my job I prepared for the civil services examination and successfully cleared it. This time, I will get into IAS,” said Dhatri who graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur and worked as a financial analyst with Deutsche Bank. Another candidate Katta Ravi Teja of Hyderabad who is into the Indian Postal Services has secured 77th rank this year. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi and prepared for the civil services examinations.

“I secured 349th rank in the second attempt and got into Indian postal services. Since childhood, I wanted to become an IAS officer. So, I gave the examination again. I used to prepare 8 hours to 9 hours in a day. I gave first preference for the IAS and second for the IRS,” Ravi Teja shared. In the results announced today, Pradeep Singh topped the civil services examination and Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma secured second and third positions. A total of 829 candidates have been recommended by the Union Public Service Commission for the appointment to posts including IAS, IFS, IPS, and central services, Group A and Group B.
