Along with the construction of the grand Shri Ram temple, work is being done to complete all the development works in Ayodhya at a fast pace. Keeping in mind that the devotees coming here do not face any kind of problem, the construction work of Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport is also being completed at a very fast pace. Air traffic services are going to start in Ayodhya district before the Pran Pratistha program to be held in the grand Shri Ram temple in the month of January. The first plane will arrive at the airport for inauguration on December 30 itself. After this, commercial operations for direct flights between Delhi and Ayodhya will be started on January 6, 2024, and it has also been announced that flights connecting Ahmedabad and Ayodhya will start from January.
Reports say that the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya is to take place on January 22, 2024. It is also expected that there will be an increase in air travel operations in Ayodhya. In this connection, Indigo has now been announced. These new flight routes are aimed at providing pilgrims direct access to Ayodhya from both Delhi and Ahmedabad. Along with this, connectivity between IndiGo's network spread in India and abroad can also be boosted. CM Yogi and Aviation Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and VK Singh had inspected the airport just a few days ago. Orders were also issued to the officials to complete the work by December 15. The officials had also assured the CM and Union Ministers that the work was going on war footing and the work was going to be completed as per the schedule.
The work of Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport is in its final stages. The runway is ready. The runway length of the airport is 2200 meters and the work of 45 meter wide runway is about to be completed 100 percent. In the second phase the runway will be 3700 meters long. The construction work of the terminal building has been 98 percent completed. While the runway work has been completed. Now Shriram Airport is going to be 50 thousand square feet.
Capacity to transport 500 passengers: All equipment for night landing is being installed on the runway. Cat One and RESA facilities for landing in fog and mist have also been completed. Landing lights have also been installed. ATC tower has been built. Fire station has been built. Fire brigade vehicles have also arrived for the airport. The facility of parking 8 aircraft simultaneously is available here. The acquisition of total 821.34 acres of land included in the project has also been completed. The terminal building has a total capacity to handle 500 passengers. There is also parking facility for 200 vehicles, 150 cars and 50 big vehicles. Apart from this, construction work of 1 apron has been completed. The total sanction cost of the projects is Rs 328 crore. There are plans to extend the runway to 3750 m in future.
Commercial booking will start from January: Reports say that according to Ayodhya DM Nitish Kumar, the licensing process for the operation of the airport has been completed. In January, Ram devotees will start getting the facility of air travel from Ayodhya to Delhi and from Ayodhya to Ahmedabad. The inaugural flight from Delhi can also reach the airport on 30th December. Commercial booking is going to start at the airport from January 6.
