Palghar: The mutilated body of a woman was recovered from bushes in the Palghar district of Maharashtra on Thursday. Police have arrested two persons in this incident. The police officer said that the body of the woman was found in the bushes at Waghoba Khind on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. The deceased woman has been identified as 28-year-old Carol Mesquita alias Pinky.
The police have arrested Pinki's boyfriend, 27-year-old Jico Mesquita, and his friend in connection with her murder case. According to police, Pinky had been missing since January 24. She left her house saying that she had to go to the doctor for a check-up. But she sat in a scooter with her boyfriend Jico and left somewhere else.
As soon as they both reached Waghoba, a quarrel broke out between them over something. Jiko told the police that Pinki was insisting on him getting married. The matter escalated to such an extent that Jiko, in a fit of rage, attacked Pinky's throat with a knife. Behind him, one of his friends, Devendra, was also coming with him on another scooter. After the murder, with the help of Devendra, Jiko threw Pinky's body near the bushes there and hid it. Then they both returned home. When Pinky did not return to her house, her family members tried to look for her. When she was nowhere to be found, two days later, they lodged a missing report of Pinky at the Bandra police station. Now strict action is being taken by the police against the criminals.
