Indore: Veteran traffic warden Nirmala Pathak (94), who handles traffic from Indore to Mumbai, has passed away on Saturday. Pathak, who wore a khaki uniform at the crossroads of the city for a long time to control the traffic from her whistle, slipped in the bathroom a few years ago and could not stand again. After this, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi named Cyclewali Bai after seeing her riding a bicycle and handling traffic. Actor Shah Rukh Khan called her on one of her shows and addressed her as the grandmother of Indore.

According to the information, Pathak breathed her last in Saturday morning at her residence at Lavkush Awas Vihar. After falling in bed, Pathak's littlest sister took great care of her. Sister Usha said that she has been rewarded many times for the traffic. One day, while handling traffic, she fell unconscious in the market and then people drop her home. She slipped and fell in the bathroom in November 2018. The son knocked on the door for a long time, when not opened, the gate had to be broken. She was lying unconscious inside. After this, she was taken to the hospital. But she could not get up from bed again. He was paralyzed in one arm and leg.

After the news of Pathak being in bed, the Chief Minister gave instructions to the Collector to give assistance of one lakh rupees from the voluntary grant. The Tehsildar had also given the assistance of 25 thousand rupees from the Red Cross. BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya also assured him to get treatment.
