New Delhi: When the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi increased the rate of minimum wages. Since then, companies related to bus operations under the cluster scheme were also demanding payment at an increased rate. Despite repeated demands from the Delhi government, when no positive initiative was taken regarding this, the companies had approached the Delhi High Court regarding this.

The Delhi High Court had ruled in favor of the companies regarding this. The Delhi High Court has now taken a tough stand regarding non-payment of the increased rate even after the order. Expressing displeasure over the non-compliance of the order given more than five years ago, the Delhi High Court has convicted 3 officers including the Chief Secretary of the Delhi government for contempt.

The Delhi High Court will now argue on the punishment of the officers convicted of contempt. The Delhi High Court will hear the sentence of officers convicted of contempt on July 14 after the summer break. Justice Rekha Palli of the Delhi High Court has asked the three officers convicted of contempt to appear before the court on July 14.
