Dehradun: A shameful incident has come to the fore from Uttarakhand; here, by taking support from a pregnant wife, the husband crossed all limits of inhumanity. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the criminal first drank heavily. After drinking alcohol, the accused assaulted and raped a minor. Crossing the limits of brutality, the criminal even threatened to kill the victim's family members. The culprit has been sentenced to 20 years in the Poxa Court. The court of ADJ/Special Judge Poxo Judge Anjali Nauliyal has found the criminal guilty in the case of raping and threatening to kill a minor girl.

The special court has sentenced the culprit to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 62 thousand. Government advocate Adesh Chand Chauhan said that on January 7, 2022, a 17-year-old girl was assaulted, raped, and killed in Khanpur. The victim teenager had told the incident to her aunt. The victim had said that the culprit raped the family by threatening to kill them. When the victim protested, the culprit also assaulted her. Taking this matter seriously, the victim had filed a case against the criminal Islam's son, Saraju, a resident of the village of Prahladpur, near the police station in Khanpur. Thereafter, the police arrested the criminal and sent him to jail. The government's advocate told the court that seven witnesses were presented on behalf of the government.

The offender had brought the victim to his home to take care of his wife when she was pregnant. The delivery of the criminal's wife took place in the hospital. The wife of the criminal was admitted to the hospital on the day of the incident. Taking advantage of this, the criminal executed the incident under the influence of alcohol. The special court has ordered financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh from the Nirbhaya Fund as compensation for the victim. Along with this, instructions have been given to send a copy of the said decision to the District Legal Services Authority and to provide proper financial assistance to the victim. The special court has also sentenced the culprit to pay a fine of Rs 62 thousand. For not depositing the amount of the fine, he has been ordered to undergo additional imprisonment for 3 months.
