THIRUVANANDAPURAM: VD Satheesan, the leader of the opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly, stated on Friday that the movie "The Kerala Story" shouldn't be allowed to be screened. "It should not be permitted for the movie 'The Kerala Story' to be screened since it erroneously alleges that 32,000 women in Kerala converted and joined the Islamic State. Satheesan stated in a Facebook post that the trailer "clearly illustrates what the film seeks to communicate.

He also said that the movie is an attempt to carry out Sangh Parivar's agenda and to polarise society by casting doubt on minority groups. He said,  this is not a matter of free speech but rather a Sangh Parivar effort to forward its aim of dividing society by throwing doubt on minority groups.

The went on  to say  "The public is already aware of what director Sudipto Sen told the media regarding the movie's subject matter. It is obvious that Kerala is being disparaged and insulted in the film on a worldwide scale. This is a plan to spread the sectarian seeds that Modi has sowed in order to advance his political ambitions. Kerala will band together and fight against this intentional attempt to sow division and hostility between religions. The history of this state is as follows.

He concluded by saying that the exceedingly risky strategy of dividing individuals based on their religious beliefs had to be abandoned. "The Sangh Parivar will never comprehend what humanity means. Do not believe that spreading the venom of communalism will split Kerala in two, he added.
