New Delhi: EV start-up based in Goa The KM5000 has been formally unveiled by Kabira Mobility in advance of its release in the Indian market. With a stated top speed of 188 km/h, the unconventional-looking cruiser asserts to be the fastest Indian electric motorcycle. The electric vehicle (EV) boasts an unmatched range of up to 344 kilometres on a single charge thanks to its 11.6 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack.

Kabira Mobility, regarded as one of the top EV manufacturers in the mid-capacity e-bike market, has been expanding its product lineup quickly since its inception. In 2021, the bike manufacturer unveiled the Hermes 75, KM3000, and KM4000 with the intention of enabling electric mobility for a variety of riders in India. The company intends to break into the high-end e-bike market with the upcoming KM5000.

The Kabira KM5000 combines the design elements of a cruiser and a roadster, and it has the posture of a crouching predator. It has a powerful tank-like design, a circular LED headlamp with an integrated DRL, a wide handlebar, a bobber-style saddle with built-in springs for comfort, and designer alloy wheels. A digital dashboard with 4G connectivity measures 7.0 inches in the EV.

The Kabira KM5000 has dual-channel ABS, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, an elevation stabiliser and a fall sensor for rider safety. Showa-sourced inverted front forks and a Nitrox-charged mono-shock unit with a single-sided swingarm at the back handle suspension duties, respectively.

A liquid-cooled 11.6kWh battery pack and a mid-drive electric motor from DeltaEV power the Kabira KM5000. Up to 344 kilometres of range are claimed by the setup. The EV can travel up to 188 km/h.

Kabira Mobility intends to introduce the KM5000 in India by the end of 2023. Prices for the bike start at Rs. 3.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Goa) and come in Midnight Grey, Deep Khaki, and Aquamarine colorways.
