The latest mid-range smartphone from Google was unveiled at I/O 2023 as the Pixel 7a

New Delhi: At I/O 2023, Google unveiled the Pixel 7a, its newest mid-range smartphone. The device is currently offered by Flipkart for Rs. 43,999 in India. It has a similar design to the Pixel 7 and a Tensor G2 chip, as well as similar software.But when it comes to picking one, the Pixel 7 seems superior even though it costs a little more. This is why.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7a have an in-display fingerprint reader, an aluminium frame, a power button/volume rocker combo on the left, and a top-centered punch-hole. They are protected by IP68 and IP67, respectively.

While the Pixel 7a has a plastic back, the Pixel 7 has a glass body. The Pixel 7 is slightly thicker (197g vs. 193.5g) and slightly slimmer (8.7mm vs. 9.0mm) than the 7a.

In comparison to the Pixel 7a, the Pixel 7 has a slightly larger OLED display (6.3 inches vs. 6.1 inches). Both offer up to a 90Hz refresh rate and Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixel) resolution support. They receive pixel densities of 416ppi and 429ppi, respectively.

The gadgets have Always-on and HDR capabilities. The front and back of the Pixel 7 have Gorilla Glass Victus, though. The front of the Pixel 7a has Gorilla Glass 3.

A 50MP (OIS) 1.31-inch main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera are both featured on the Pixel 7. A 64MP (OIS) 1/1.73-inch main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide lens are both included with the Pixel 7a. They have 10.8MP and 13MP selfie cameras on the front, respectively. Both devices can record 4K videos at 30/60 frames per second and support an 8x Super Res Zoom on the primary camera.

 

The Tensor G2 chipset powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7a, which also feature 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The devices come pre-installed with Android 13. They each contain batteries with capacities of 4,355mAh and 4,385mAh. The Pixel 7 can reverse wirelessly charge and supports 20W wired and wireless charging. The Pixel 7a receives 18W of wired charging and about 5W of wireless charging.

In times of sales, the Pixel 7 typically sells for less than Rs. 50,000. It is currently available on Flipkart for Rs. 56,999 with a Rs. 5,000 instant bank discount and a few exchange offers. Costing Rs. 43,999, the Pixel 7a. Along with some exchange promotions over the phone, Flipkart is providing a Rs. 4,000 discount on HDFC Bank credit/debit transactions.

The Pixel 7 has superior front and back materials, better haptics because of an improved vibration motor, marginally better speakers, and a larger screen. The gadget offers 4K videos at 60 frames per second from the front cameras as well as superior low-light photography. It supports reverse wireless charging and enables faster wireless charging. The advantages of Pixel 7 over Pixel 7a are these features.
