Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man tricked his teenage daughter into writing a suicide note to trap his relatives and then asked her to pretend it to be like a suicide. Because of this, he actually killed his daughter. The 16-year-old girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house in the Kalamna area of Nagpur city on November 6, a police official said on Saturday.  

He said that the person working as a labourer was later arrested. Police are probing to find out the motive behind the murder. Based on the five suicide notes recovered from the room, the police initially registered a case of abetment to suicide against the girl's stepmother, uncle, aunt and grandparents, said an officer of the Kalamna police station. But due to the investigation, the investigation of the victim's father's mobile phone revealed that there was a diabolical conspiracy behind the incident which looked like suicide. The police officer said that 'in the mobile phone we found a picture of the victim attempting suicide. It was later revealed that he had asked her daughter to pretend as if she was hanging herself and clicked a picture. Thereafter, he dropped the stool. Due to this, the girl died. He said that he wants to teach a lesson to his relatives.'

The police officer said that 'Earlier the man had asked his girl to write 5 suicide notes in the names of these relatives. When the girl pretended to be hanged, her father and 12-year-old sister were present on the spot. Thereafter, the criminal left the house.' He later called the police and claimed that he was out for some work and on his return, he found that his daughter had hanged herself. The police had initially registered a case of abetment to suicide under the Indian Penal Code against 5 relatives. But investigators later realized something was missing. The police officer said that when we found the picture of the girl attempting to commit suicide on his phone, we questioned the person. Thereafter, The person told the police that he had killed his daughter. His first wife ended her life in 2016 and the second wife had also left the house. The man was arrested on charges of murder.
